Round was slow as we were behind four Americans who showed no signs of letting us through. No matter as course is beautiful. Very wet in places and indeed we were subjected to absolute drenching downpour for around 15 minutes. Course has apparently been closed several days this summer due to being too wet. Facilities were lovely although no atmosphere as nobody was in the bar during our hour there after we finished.
Royal Belfast Golf club was established in 1881, when local man Thomas Sinclair, who had fallen in love with the game on a recent trip to St Andrews, decided to establish a golf course in his local town.
The scenic Harry Colt designed layout is located just 15 minutes from Belfast International Airport and deserves to be rated as one of Northern Ireland’s top golf courses.
